| The
Fox & The Farm
The Fox & The Farm is a lovely
little sampler, perfect for anyone who enjoys
visiting fall fairs or has fond memories of summers
spent on Grandmother’s farm. The dogs bark
at the farm animals, while the fox steals into
the yard. A perfect project for beginners.
Part of the premiere Traditions
line, this full color chart has easy-to-read symbols.
It opens up to an oversized 17½”
x 23½” color pattern. A gift for
tired eyes! Stitchers will love the stories about
rural crafts.
Stitched on aida or evenweave; DMC
and Anchor codes.
Michelle talks
about this pattern
This pattern was inspired by many weekend visits
to fall fairs around our home in Hamilton, Ontario.
We still go out with our two boys to see the animals,
sample the preserves and browse the crafts tables.
These visits always get me thinking about my grandmother's
farm in New Brunswick, and the ride home usually
has me reminiscing and telling stories.
If the farmhouse looks familiar,
it's probably because you can find it along any
country road in Ontario. My favourite detail,
though, is the border collies. There they are
– barking their heads off – and totally
oblivious to the fox tripping blithely above them!
Other uses for this pattern
You might add backstitching around the fences or the house. This
will add definition, especially if your Aida cloth is light. Consider
stitching the horse or the cow above the pocket of a denim shirt.
The farm animals could also be stitched across the front of a
t-shirt for a little person. Other ideas: adorn a canvas tote
bag or the front of an apron with the farmhouse or animals or
both. Or stitch just the apples -- along with a name -- for a
personalized bookmark for a special teacher.
